The TV anime “The Heike Story” will be broadcast on Fuji TV “+ Ultra” and others from January 2022, and it will be pre-distributed on FOD from September 15th this month. PV, cast, staff, etc. were announced at once.
The Tale of the Heike, which was handed down by Biwa Hoshi and had a great influence on the literature and theater of posterity, is a great classic that depicts the prosperity and downfall of the Heike. Based on the overwhelming narrative translated by Hideo Furukawa, it will be made into a TV animation for the first time by an elite creator.
As the main character and storyteller, Biwa Hoshi, this work features the original anime character “Biwa” (CV. Aoi Yuki). Taira no Kiyomori (CV. Tessho Genda)’s eldest son Shigemori (CV. Takahiro Sakurai) and his sister Tokuko (CV. Saori Hayami) and other Heike people interact with “Biwa”. We will develop “The Heike Story” as a group image drama of people who lived hard while being at the mercy of the times, not just historical facts.
